Well looky here, this is rather a girly post for you all this fine Tuesday. When I discovered metallic gold leather paint…well…it had me at ‘hello’ that’s all I can say. But what to make? I went digging around to find the leftover white leather from a previous DIY project and was all smiles to find there was enough left to fashion a clutch bag. All mine have died a death in one way or another over the years.
I feel like a huge hypocrite wheeling out gift guides when I haven’t even started my Christmas shopping yet! On the other hand it has to be done so why hide. I’ve been mulling over some ideas for three different categories but perhaps I might just happen to fall into all three. Fancy that! I hope they provide some inspiration for your shopping adventures and seeing as it’s all online it’s also fuss free. I used to love the action of going out to Christmas shop. It seemed to make me feel more festive and in the spirit of things but now I can’t think of anything I’d rather not be doing at this time of year. The same with shopping all year round really. I’m definitely an online kind of girl. Enjoy…
Happy hump day! It sure has felt like that for me today but hooray because my next DIY contribution is up on Sugar & Cloth! Let me introduce you to these mini mountain photo holders, possibly the cutest way to display your postcards and pictures…possibly. What do you think?
Head over to Sugar & Cloth for the full tutorial here. It does of course include my one true love, polymer clay. This time you don’t even need to roll or mould it…madness!
It’s pretty unusual that I ever stray into my bathroom on this blog, in fact I’m not sure I ever have. Having said that, I figured that, like us you may also have a whole lot of toiletries from face wash,to moisturisers, to exfoliators, to lotions and potions, mouthwash to make up. Just to put to rest any doubt, the make up is mine, not my husband’s! All of these goodies get shoved into our bathroom cabinet, that very conveniently came with the room but now it’s getting to the point where there ain’t no room at the Inn. When you get to the stage where a number of items fall out into the sink every time the cabinet door opens, you know something has to be done!
With that in mind I wanted to create some storage bags to house all the extra bits and bobs whilst keeping them relatively organised and pretty. It’s all to easy to buy unattractive storage but when somethings functional and adds something to the aesthetic of a room, I’d say that’s a double win!
This idea has been bubbling away for a while now but it’s been put to the side on a number of occasions. Everyone loves a hanging planter right? I’ve made and owned various such hanging delights around the house but really wanted to create a tiered version so I could hang three plants at a time. You could actually go wild and add even more tiers but I decided to give start of with three. This baby now sits pride of place in our bedroom replacing our previous planter friend. It had to make way for this superior good looking number…poor thing.
