12 styled days of Christmas: day 4
images and styling from Fall For DIY
It’s day 4 of our 12 styled days of Christmas and I’m excited to welcome Fran from Fall For DIY into the mix. I’ve been a big fan of Fran’s for a very long time, way before I ever met her in the flesh and I’ve always admired her endless creativity and clean, fresh aesthetic. She’s one busy lady creating a huge amount of clever DIY tutorials over on her blog and also now runs We Make Collective supplying creative kits and inspiration to get us all crafting away. Everything she touches turns to gold so I couldn’t wait to see what she came up with and was beaming when I realised it involved breakfast. My favourite meal! Over to you Fran…
What’s the idea behind your table?
Growing up one of my favourite Christmas traditions was waking up early and opening my stocking with my sister in bed. Now I’m older we open them over breakfast instead.
How is this idea personal to you / how does it relate to how you celebrate the festive season
My boyfriend Alex works as a radiographer which means he often has to work Christmas day. When he does we usually pick a different day to celebrate on but we always make breakfast a little special on the 25th. Having a stocking to open is a great way to include all the Christmas traditions in a short window of time. We open presents, play games and eat lots of festive food. Christmas in under an hour!

How will you be spending this Christmas?
Alex will have to work this year so I’ve decided to treat my mum to a meal out this year. All of the Christmas with none of the hassle! That is after our breakfast fun of course.
What’s top of your Christmas list this year?
A 2016 planner (or maybe two…) I’m looking for the perfect one for next year, but I’d better decide soon if I hope to have it under the tree on time!
In true Fall For DIY Spirit Fran has created a craft project for you to try. Read the full tutorial for making the cute stocking you see on her Christmas table. Head over to her blog for that and get making!
